ORNL 3026 Deactivation, Decontamination, and Demolition Project
High-Rad/High Contamination Experience at a Cat 3 Nuclear Facility as a First Tier Contractor – OHS Technical Services is currently contracted by SEC Federal Services (aka Perma-Fix) to provide oversight and management of the Radiological Control Organization (Radcon, Dosimetry, Instrumentation, Records) supporting the 3026 D&D project. This project is dealing with some of the most contaminated buildings and materials found at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, TN. OHS provided Mr. Neil Kiely, CHP to function as the Radiological Controls Manager and to consult on various project challenges including deconning a dilapidated hotcell containing rad sources > 1000 R/h and contamination levels in the many billions of dpm/100 cm2.
